Our Work
The best way to choose an exterior contractor is to look at their work — not their sales pitch. From new construction builds in Des Peres and Pacific to full home renovations in Town & Country, Oakville, and Moro, this gallery reflects the range of what IES Construction & Roofing delivers across St. Louis, St. Louis County, and Metro East Illinois.
This St. Louis home arrived with dated aluminum siding, aging crown molding, and an original front door flanked by transom side lights — a classic home that had lost some of its presence over the years. The goal was a modern facelift that honored the home's original charm rather than erasing it.
IES Construction & Roofing installed James Hardie HardiePlank® lap siding in Arctic White, James Hardie soffit and fascia in Arctic White, and a full trim package combining James Hardie HardieTrim® and Tru Exterior/Boral profiles — including the crown molding detail that gives this home its distinctive, tailored roofline character. The original front door was replaced, a custom portico was built over the entry, and custom metal roofs were fabricated and installed over the bay windows. The result is a home that looks sharper and more refined than it ever has — while staying true to the architecture and character that made it worth investing in.

A full exterior overhaul on a Town & Country home — vinyl siding and aluminum soffit and fascia out, James Hardie Board & Batten in. New roof, new columns, new gutters, and a dramatic Iron Ore finish that transformed the entire street presence of this home.

Some projects you install siding on. This one we helped build from the ground up. IES Construction & Roofing was brought onto this new construction build in Des Peres, MO from blueprints to reality — delivering the complete roofing and exterior siding package on one of the finest new homes we have been part of in the St. Louis and Metro East market.
The roof is CertainTeed Landmark Pro in Georgetown Grey — a refined, architectural shingle that suits the scale and character of this home. The siding is a full James Hardie package: HardiePlank® lap siding in Arctic White, James Hardie Board & Batten painted to match the Pella casement windows, James Hardie soffit and fascia in Arctic White throughout. The finishing touch — custom copper roofs hand-fabricated and installed over the front bay windows — is the kind of detail that separates a great new construction build from an exceptional one.

Another new construction project in Des Peres — and another opportunity to deliver the kind of exterior package that defines a neighborhood. IES Construction & Roofing took this home from blueprints to production, handling every element of the exterior siding and trim work from the ground up.
The siding is James Hardie HardiePlank® lap siding in Cobblestone — a warm, refined color that gives this home depth and character without overpowering the architecture. The soffit and fascia are James Hardie HardieSoffit® in Arctic White, creating a clean, bright roofline contrast. The trim throughout the house is Tru Exterior — and the front of the home received a full Tru Exterior trim package that frames every window, door, and corner with precision. The finishing touch is the Douglas fir tongue-and-groove ceiling on the front exterior — a warm, natural wood detail that elevates the entry and signals the level of craft that went into every square foot of this build.

Not every bold exterior decision gets made in a high-profile zip code — and this Moro, Illinois project is proof that great design belongs everywhere. The homeowner came to IES Construction & Roofing with a clear vision: a deep, dark, monochromatic exterior that would make this home impossible to drive past without looking twice.
The old vinyl siding came off and James Hardie HardiePlank® lap siding went on in Rich Espresso — one of the boldest, most dramatic colors in the Statement Collection. All trim was installed in the same Rich Espresso, creating a seamless, monochromatic look where the siding and trim read as one unified, commanding exterior. New 6" gutters in white were added as the only deliberate contrast — a clean, sharp accent line that defines the roofline without breaking the dark, cohesive character of the home. The result is a home that owns its block.

New construction doesn't always mean fiber cement — and this Pacific, Missouri build is a perfect example of what happens when natural materials and modern craft come together. IES Construction & Roofing was brought in to deliver the complete exterior package on this new home, and the result is one of the most distinctive builds we have been part of in the greater St. Louis market.
The siding is real cypress wood — installed in a true board and batten style using 9" field boards with 3" batten strips applied over every seam. This is authentic board and batten the way it was always meant to be built — wide, bold boards with narrow battens that create deep, dramatic shadow lines no fiber cement panel can fully replicate. Cypress was the right choice for this project: naturally rot-resistant, dimensionally stable, and a material that only gets more character and beauty as it weathers.
James Hardie soffit and fascia in Arctic White complete the roofline cleanly, while black 6" gutters and a GAF HDZ Timberline roof in Barkwood — installed by Central States — tie the entire exterior together with a dark, cohesive roofline that grounds the natural wood siding below it. This is a home built for the long run — designed with intention from the ground up.

In Town & Country, the homes are exceptional — and the standards for every trade working on them have to match. When this homeowner called IES Construction & Roofing, they wanted more than a roof replacement. They wanted a roofing system they could stop thinking about for the next fifty years.
The old roofing system came off completely and CertainTeed Landmark Pro shingles went on in Moire Black — a deep, rich color that commands the roofline and pairs beautifully with the home's exterior. Landmark Pro is not a standard shingle. It carries a 50-year non-prorated warranty — meaning if something goes wrong in year 30, the warranty pays out the same as it would in year one. No depreciation, no partial coverage. That is the level of protection a home in Town & Country deserves, and it is exactly what IES Construction & Roofing delivers as a CertainTeed SELECT ShingleMaster™ certified contractor.

Some projects are a repair. Some are an upgrade. This one was a complete transformation — a full exterior renovation that touched every surface of this Oakville home from the roofline to the foundation. IES Construction & Roofing started by taking everything off: vinyl siding, aluminum soffit and fascia, the old roof, and the gutters. What went back on was in a completely different class.
James Hardie HardiePlank® lap siding in Monterey Taupe replaced the vinyl — a warm, refined color that gave this home the architectural presence it had always been capable of. James Hardie soffit and fascia in Arctic White completed the roofline cleanly. The front porch received a complete character overhaul: permanent cast columns, beam wraps in James Hardie Trim, and woodtone pre-finished tongue-and-groove ceiling that brings warmth and craftsmanship to the entry that no one who visits this home can walk past without noticing.
The roof is CertainTeed Belmont shingles — a premium architectural shingle with a distinctive, layered shadow profile that suits the character of this home. A metal roof from Central States completes the roofline details. The result is a home that looks like it was always supposed to look this way — like someone finally gave it what it deserved.

Webster Groves homes have character — and this project was about honoring that character while giving it a level of durability and craftsmanship it never had before. IES Construction & Roofing delivered a complete James Hardie exterior package that uses two different siding products in the same color to create a layered, architectural look that sets this home apart on its street.
The main body of the home is James Hardie HardiePlank® lap siding in Arctic White — clean, bright, and classic. The accent areas are James Hardie HardieShingle® in Arctic White — bringing a rich, textured shake character to the gables and focal points that the flat lap siding on the field walls cannot achieve. Using both products in the same color creates a subtle but sophisticated contrast: same palette, completely different texture and shadow depth. It is the kind of exterior detail that architects appreciate and neighbors ask about.
The roof is IKO Dynasty in Granite Black — a dark, premium architectural shingle that anchors the all-white exterior with a bold, grounding roofline. A metal roof from Central States and 6" gutters complete the package. The result is a home that is as refined as the neighborhood it sits in.

There are James Hardie projects — and then there are projects like this one. This Town & Country home is in a class of its own, combining a full James Hardie exterior package with a level of custom metalwork that very few contractors in the St. Louis market can execute. IES Construction & Roofing delivered every element.
The siding is a two-profile James Hardie combination — HardiePlank® lap siding and HardiePanel® Board & Batten — both finished in a custom color that was specified specifically for this home. Not a catalog color. A color chosen and mixed to complement the architecture, the landscaping, and the vision the homeowner had for what this exterior should become. James Hardie soffit and fascia complete the roofline in the same refined finish.
The defining detail of this project — the one that makes it unforgettable — is the custom copper metal roofs installed throughout. Hand-fabricated and installed over every bay, dormer, and architectural feature that called for it, the copper roofs bring a warmth, permanence, and craftsmanship to this exterior that no other material can replicate. Fresh copper has a brilliance that draws the eye immediately. As it patinas over the years it will only deepen in character. This is a home built to be noticed — and remembered — for decades.

Cobblestone is one of those colors that reveals itself differently depending on the light — warm and sandy in the afternoon sun, cooler and more refined in the shade. It was the right choice for this Oakville home, and IES Construction & Roofing delivered a James Hardie installation that lets the color do exactly what it's meant to do.
James Hardie HardiePlank® lap siding in Cobblestone replaced the existing exterior, and the full trim package is Boral Tru Exterior — a premium trim material that offers the design flexibility of wood without the maintenance vulnerabilities. Tru Exterior trim holds paint exceptionally well, resists moisture and rot, and machines cleanly for detailed profiles — making it a natural partner for a James Hardie siding installation where the trim work needs to be as durable as the siding it frames.
The result is a clean, grounded, and quietly confident exterior — one that fits the character of the neighborhood while standing apart from the homes around it. Cobblestone on a well-executed James Hardie installation is timeless. This one will look just as good in fifteen years as it does today.
